Michael Savage
Michael L. Savage, Sr., MCP, CBO, CFPS, CEI-M – is an ICC Board Member as a Director-At-Large, as well as the Director of Building Safety for Marion County, Florida. He was formerly the Chief Building Official for the City of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Mr. Savage holds an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, Mr. Savage holds 42 International Code Council certifications, including Master Code Professional and Certified Building Official, as well as being a NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) and IAEI Certified Electrical Inspector – Master.
Mr. Savage is originally from the State of Maryland, where he was a Building Official for 19 years, before relocating to New Mexico, and eventually Florida. He was a soldier in the United States Army, serving as the Chief of Property Book Work Orders (construction) and Assistant NCOIC of a Brigade S-4 Section. Mr. Savage is one of the founding members, and first President of ICC Region XI, and is the current board liaison to ICC Region VIII and alternate to Region IX.
In his spare time he enjoys motorcycle riding with his wife of 32 years, working out, and is a 2nd Dan in the World Taekwondo Federation.
