IAS Accreditation Committee Hearing

The purpose of the hearing is to establish or revise accreditation criteria pertaining to IAS accreditation programs and to inform the public on IAS principles and major policies. The open hearing process provides all interested parties with the opportunity to contribute ideas or voice their opinions on any of the Proposed Criteria. The hearing will begin at 8:30 a.m. (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

The hearing will be held online via WebEx.

While IAS Accreditation Committee hearings (meetings) are open to all interested parties. For security reasons, IAS will require registration to participate.

1. AC157 – Fabricator Inspection – Proposal to revalidate the Accreditation Criteria for Fabricator Inspection Programs of Reinforced and Precast/Prestressed Concrete. Read more. No comments received as of 6.10.24.
2. AC196 – Fabricator Inspection – Proposal to revalidate the Accreditation Criteria for Fabricator Inspection Programs for Wood Wall Panels. Read more. No comments received as of 6.10.24.
3. AC204 – Calibration Laboratories – The proposed changes are intended to add new normative and reference documents, add standard on international vocabulary, edit title name, delete Section 5.3 as and links to the transition policy as the transition period is over, and add a link to BIPM . Read more. 4. AC370 – Product Certification Agencies – The proposed changes are intended to add reference to MD7 and add PEFC to the list of schemes. Read more. No comments received as of 6.10.24.
5. AC472 – Metal Building Systems Inspection – The proposed revision is due to comments received during the assessment process of several manufacturers concerning the number of hours required to certify Level I and Level II UT (Ultrasonic Testing) technicians. 6. AC473 – Manufacturers of Cold-Formed Steel Components Inspection – Proposal to revalidate the Accreditation Criteria for Inspection Programs of Cold-Formed Steel Structural and Nonstructural Components. Read more. No comments received as of 6.10.24.

AC474 – Personnel Certification Bodies – The proposed changes are intended to remove three reference documents and add an additional reference, add a new MD, add a definition of scheme owner, add eligibility criteria in line with IAF MD25, clarify the certification decisions section, add a new section on scheme validation, and correct the name and web address of APAC. Read more. 8. AC478 – Metal Building Assemblers – This item has been removed from the hearing agenda.
9. AC780 – Medical Laboratories – The proposed changes are intended recognize sample collection centers covered under the accreditation of the main medical lab and prevent the misuse of accreditation by sample collection centers. Read more. No comments received as of 6.10.24.
10. AC783 – HALAL Certification Bodies – Proposal to retire the Accreditation Criteria for Halal Certification Bodies. Read more. No comments received as of 6.10.24.
