IAS Assessor Forum 2018: Share, Collaborate, Achieve

IAS held its Assessors Forum November 5-9, at the Fullerton Marriott at California State University, Fullerton, California. Accreditation and technical experts from around the globe gathered for a week of technical discussions and presentations, updates on IAS operations, and collaborative exercises aimed at improving the accreditation programs provided by IAS. The forum also welcomed keynote speaker, Dr. Berok Khoshnevis, who presented on the Technological Innovations in Additive Manufacturing. Assessors also heard from IAS customers, Ms. Hala Jawad, President of RADCO Test Lab, Plan Review and Inspection Services, Mr. Lawrence Gibson, Executive VP of Quality Auditing Institute (QAI), and Mr. John Bogler, President of ACT Lab LLC, who participated in a panel discussions about what is important to customers of IAS.

At the end of the closing meeting, IAS Management took the time to present awards to a few assessors who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to meet the needs of our customers.

The Rookie of the Year award recognizes the top-performing assessor in their first year working with IAS. The 2018 Rookie of the Year award recipient was James Yoo.

The 2018 Global Ambassador award was presented to Lawrence O’Connor, who has demonstrated a high level of intercultural leadership skills within our global community.

The 2018 Technical Excellence Award was given to B.N. Taranath, who continues to be shining example of our organization’s technical competence.

The Assessor of the Year award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, knowledge and perseverance through their assessments and outreach efforts. Furthermore, this assessor embodies the IAS spirit through their commitment to provide the highest quality accreditation services for all concerned with public safety and sustainability. The 2018 Assessor of the Year was presented to Dimitrios Katsieris, who is considered a role model for our assessors.
