ILAC and IAF are Merging to form GLOBAC
There is an important development in the global accreditation landscape. At their annual meetings in October 2024, the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) initiated steps to merge into a unified organization, the Global Accreditation Cooperation (GLOBAC). Tentatively, the transition will be completed by January 2026.
As part of this transition, ILAC and IAF have issued a communication document for stakeholders, regulators, and other key partners. IAS is sharing this document (linked here) for your reference and to keep you informed on how this may impact the industry.
IAS will continue to update you on future actions from GLOBAC, ILAC, and IAF as is relevant.
