Udo Lampe
Udo Lampe is the owner and managing director of Analytica Alimentaria GmbH, a food testing laboratory based in Berlin, Germany. Analytica Alimentaria is active in many countries of the world.
Udo has 25 years of experience in food safety which began in 1998 when he and his wife Maria del Mar Ridao Dominguez (an agricultural engineer) began running a farm near Almeria, Spain. Based on their needs on the farm, they realized that there was a considerable need for development in the field of residue analysis. They decided to establish a consulting and laboratory company for food safety in Almeria in 2000. Innovative approaches were developed, such as pre-harvest projects, independent sampling, and inspection to guarantee the safety of the products. Because of this, Udo is a self-proclaimed “food-safety enthusiast” and due to his decades of experience in the field of food safety, Udo is a sought-after expert, lecturer, and speaker.
For more than a decade, Udo has been a member of several IAS Technical Advisory Councils (TACs) and recently became chairman of the IAS Food Safety TAC.
Udo studied Geoecology at the Technical University Carolo Wilhelmina in Brunswick, Germany. He holds the title of State-approved (federal state of Brandenburg) private expert for crosschecks for the analysis of pesticide residues and pathogen germs.
